List of Evacuation Centers in Marikina & Number of Families Housed

Thanks to friends Marielle Nadal and Lex Reyes, and one of our favorite public servants, Ms. Nadeia Sarte of Marikina City (a super remarkable woman!), we have these data from Marikina City:

1) Malanday Elementary School – 1,800 families
2) Nangka Elementary School – 2,500 families
3) Nangka HS Camacho Village – 500 families
4) H. Bautista Elementary School (Brgy. Tumana) – 800 families
5) Concepcion Integrated School – 800 families
6) Brgy. Hall, Parang – 900 families
7) Tanong (enye-Tanyong) – 204 families
8 ) Calumpang – 300 families
9) Brgy. Sto. Nino – 4,000 individuals
10) Maranata Church – 609 individuals
11) Provident Village – no info
12) Industrial Valley – 3,000 families
13) San Roque – 400 families
*NOTE:
Marielle, Lex, and I are working on a project to database the people in these evacuation centers so that people can check if their friends and loved ones are on the list. We’ll be using a Google Spreadsheet as well, just like the other great efforts before us. Marielle and Lex will do some initial data-gathering tomorrow morning, and then we hope to get some people involved for the encoding effort.
If you’d like to know more about this and volunteer some of your time, please let us know. You may reach me at nina.terol@gmail.com (Gmail/Facebook) and @ninaterol on Twitter.
Thank you so much, Pilipinas. This is a shared experience that I hope we can all learn from. In times of trouble, tayo-tayo lang ang nagtutulungan.

    Hi There
My friend and I are desparately searching for his girlfriend who was in the flooded area of Marikina. We have no word from her in 5 days and are so worried . We are hoping she is registered at one of your evacuation centers or perhaps even you can help us locate her by texting her cell . Her cell number is 639152948034. It may be answered by her sister Venus, so she would kniow about Joanne’s status also. Joanne’s last name is Devegara. She was last living at
#2 Lazaro Street STO. Nino Marikina, and was attending Our Lady of Perpetual Succor College studying home care. We feeel so helpless here in Canada and truly appreciate it if you can locate her or even tell us if she is ok and has the necessary food etc. She also will have two small children in her company. We are desparate to know something . Please if you are able to find out anything, please e-mail me here at kindlewood@nf.aibn.com. We can’t even phone there due to many phone lines being destroyed. Even if you can contact local area hospitals for us ..we would really really be thankful. Please.. I will check my mail very very frequently to hopefully get good news from you. Our prayers are with you and thank you in advance for your help.
Regards, Respect & Prayers.. Brian Pittman

    Hi Nina,

Our company is planning to have a feeding program this Saturday October 3, 2009 and we have not chosen an evacuation site where we can send out our help and feed specially the children. We can see from your list that Tanong Evacuation Center has around 204 families probably enough number of people to help in regards to what we have on hand. Can you please let me know how to reach a representative there? We would appreciate an information be given to us the soonest possible time. you can email me for the details. Will wait for your reply. Many thanks and God bless.

    Kind Regards,

    Mrs. Teri Sangil

    Hi Nina,

Our group is also planning a feeding project in any of the evacuation centers in Marikina. We’re targetting any site that may have around 200 people based on our running supply. Would you be able to refer us to anyone whom we could talk to? Our target date is on October 24, Saturday. We plan to have a short program as well as additional relief efforts with whatever we may be able to come up with. Looking forward to hearing from you soon. Thanks in advance and God bless!

    Mike.
